A SLIMMING dad has shed 22lbs – and helped raise thousands of pounds for charity.
Ben Azadi took on a weight loss challenge using 10 diet plans over a 10-week period.
The 28-year-old was raising money in memory of his niece Rose McNaughton, who was stillborn.
And his dieting stunt and perseverance has so far raised around £1,250.
“I’m chuffed with it,” said Ben, who lives in Thornaby.
“We raised about £500 altogether and someone has vowed to double that, then there’s Gift Aid too.”
Ben weighed nearly 31st in November 2010 but lost more than 6st after gastric surgery last year.
But he is determined to lose more and embarked on the challenge.
He took on regimes including the Atkins, Special K and Weight Watchers diets. Most diets saw him lose weight but his weight did increase after a couple.
Ben believes his body had become desperate for certain food-types and held on to more food.
But his target weight was under 22st – and he hit it.
