San Francisco ‘s Habit Project , providing hypnotherapy solutions for a variety of issues, is offering a free tele-class on allergies and hypnosis on August 14, 2012.

“In 2010, the CDC’s National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) found that 7.6 percent of American adults suffered from hay fever, just one of many types of allergies. That’s close to 18 million adults. Unfortunately, we spend millions on allergy medications that simply mask the symptoms,” William Song of Habit Project said. “It’s time to offer a more effective alternative to drugs.”
An allergy is an overreaction of the immune system. For example, let’s say “Jane” is allergic to pollen. She sneezes and has itchy eyes because her immune system is defending her against the “invader.” Drugs decrease her symptoms but don’t address the true cause: a faulty response from the immune system.
Most people are unaware that hypnosis can help people with hay fever and other allergies by helping adjust the immune system’s response. Most people know of hypnotherapy to quit smoking and for weight loss hypnosis .
“Thousands of scientific studies have been done on hypnotherapy for a variety of issues. In my opinion, we’re in the early stage of a healthcare shift that’s partly driven by the need to lower costs, and it’s partly driven by consumers wanting true solutions, not merely band-aids that mask the symptoms. Within 20 years, I believe that hypnosis will become a mainstream tool prescribed by doctors for allergies,” Song said.
